Get the Style: Jessica Alba's Spring Street Style Inspired Outfits!

Jessica Alba always has amazing street style and it always looks like she just rolls out of bed looking radiant and put together! I absolutely love her style and I think it's one that anyone can pull off! This post will include three outfits inspired by outfits that Jessica Alba was spotted in! Two the outfits are inspired by her actual street style while the third outfit is an affordable and wearable take on one of her red carpet looks! Read on to see my take on her spring street style!

Outfit #1:
Tank, Sunglasses, Skirt, Boots, Tee, Bracelets
This first outfit is the perfect mix between girly and edgy. It's perfect for those who want to spice up their outfits without being too dramatic! The statement piece featured this outfit is a black and pink floral skirt which was paired with short sleeved/tank top. Finding a top exactly like the one Jessica Alba was wearing may be hard to find, but a black flowy tee or tank will work perfectly! A little bit of "edge" was added into the outfit with a pair of maroon booties (Jessica Alba was wearing Dr. Martens). The accessories were then kept minimal, so just add a pair of cat-eye sunglasses and gold bangles to finish off the look!

Outfit #2:
Cardigan, Bag, Watches, Tank, Wedges, Jeans
This outfit is one of the girlier outfits featured in this post while still being very comfortable and causal. The piece that this outfit feature is a peach cardigan which was over a white lace detailed tank with black skinny jeans. The accessories for this outfit are very simple and only includes a white detailed handbag and a gold watch. Finish off the outfit with a touch more girly-ness by adding a pair of gray wedges

Outfit #3:
Skirt, Bag, Bandeau, Heels, Earrings, Nail Polish
Although this outfit was inspired by one of Jessica Alba's red carpet looks, I think that the outfit is still very wearable for a day or even night out look for the spring and summer! The statement piece in this outfit is definitely a pastel yellow skater skirt, which she paired with a white bandeau. For accessories, add a black clutch, black or patterned pointy heels or flats, and gold stud earrings! As for her nail color, it looked like she was wearing a soft coral nail polish, which is another perfect pop of color!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Which of the three outfits would you most likely wear!
Please comment below! I would most likely wear the second outfit!

My Empties #1! | Products I've Used Up

Over the past few weeks, I have been running out of products one after another, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. It's a good thing that I'm finishing up products so that I have more room for new products. It's also kind of a bad thing because most of the products that I recently used up are some of my favorite products, which I later repurchased. Here are my empties and some short thoughts of each products!

(From left to right)
  • Maybelline Fit Me concealer. This is my everyday concealer and I absolutely love it! It covers up under-eye circles really well as well as pimples without looking cakey or unnatural. It has a wide color selection and I would totally recommend it! I have also repurchased this product several times, which shows how much I love it!
  • Maybelline Mega Plush mascara. Maybelline's mega plush mascara is also in my everyday makeup routine. This is a very natural looking mascara and I loved it so much that I repurchased it. Check out my review on the product here!
  • Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. This lotion is one of my favorite moisturizing products and has been a cult favorite for a while. For someone with combination skin, this lotion is perfect for the drier areas that need more moisture!
  • Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleaner. I've been searching forever for an acne cleaner that will clear up my acne and this one is one of the only ones that does the job! This is a product that I have repurchased and recommend it anyone who has a hard time controlling their acne.
  • NYX Cream Blush in "Rose Petal". I tend to prefer cream blushes over powder blushes because they look more natural on my skin and last longer. This color would suit any skin tone and NYX cream blushes last a long time without the huge price tag! I have already repurchased this product and did a review on it here!
  • Revlon Colorstay eyeliner in "Black". I have tried out many eyeliners and recently I ran out of this eyeliner. This eyeliner claims to be a 16-hour eyeliner, and though it didn't last that long on my eyes, it did last throughout a 10 hour day without smudging, even in water.
  • H2O Water-Activated Eye Makeup Remover. My mom actually picked up this product for me at T.J.Maxx and even though I had never heard of the brand H2O, I loved this remover! It removed waterproof makeup smoothly and contains minerals to help your skin. If you are able to get your hands on this product, I would definitely recommend to try it out!

Overall, I actually really enjoyed all the products I ran out of and have actually repurchased every one except for the eyeliner and makeup remover (although if I could get my hands on the makeup remover, I would buy it)!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Get the Style: Ariana Grande 'Problem' Live Preformance Outfit!

Ariana Grande's new song 'Problem', which has topped the charts and has recently been my new guilty pleasure song. Not only does she having an amazing voice, but she also has a great on-stage style during her live performances. During some of her recent performances, Ariana Grande has been pulling off an all-black outfit that is chic yet easy to recreate! I have put together some options to recreate Ariana Grande's look! Read on to see my take on her on-stage look!

Top:
Long Sleeve TopBralette, Short Sleeve Top
Ariana Grande seems to always wears a black crop top when preforming 'Problem' live. The black long sleeve off-the-shoulder tee is the exact one that she was wearing when performing at the Ellen Degenerous show. On 'Dancing with the Stars', she went for a black crop top, so any cropped tank or bralette would work for this look. For a (little more) conservative look, a black cropped short sleeve top would work well! Overall, any cropped black top would work to get her look!

Bottoms:
Cropped Pants, Jeans
For her bottoms, she went for high-waisted cropped blacks (the exact pair is shown on the left), which shows just the right amount of skin when paired with a cropped top. An alternative to this though is black high waisted jeans that are cuffed at the bottom. Cropped bottoms balance the high-waisted part of the pants, and is very flattering!

Shoes:
Heels, Flats
For shoes, when she wasn't wearing her signature tall white boots, Ariana Grande always wore a pair of  black classic patent leather pointy pumps. An alternative to heels is a pair of black patent leather pointy toed flats. The black shoes and pointy toe compliment the rest of the outfit, since it doesn't clash and instead makes the outfit look more chic.

I hope you found this post helpful!

Get the Look: Kesha's Billboard Music Awards 2014 Makeup Look!

I honestly never thought that I would do a "Get the Look" post on Kesha, because she usually goes for more dramatic makeup looks that are out of my comfort zone. At the Billboard Music Awards this year, though, I think that Kesha surprised many people when she went for a more natural makeup look with a messy yet chic hairdo. This makeup look is a very simplistic makeup look that would be perfect for an everyday spring and summer makeup look. Read on to see my take on her makeup look!

Face:
  • Concealer: Kesha was not wearing any heavy foundation, so opt for a concealer to cover up any imperfections and to conceal under eye circles.
  • Translucent Powder: Apply all over your face with a fluffy brush to help keep your face matte all day.
  • Light Matte Bronzer: Apply to the hollows of your cheeks, on the sides of your face to your temples, and down the jawline with a large brush to had some color and definition to your face.
  • Illuminating Peach-Pink Blush: Apply on to the tops of the apples of your cheeks and up to the sides of your face. This will add both color and a highlighting effect in one. (The product shown above is the Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso").
  • Highlighter: If your blush isn't illuminating, then also apply a highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones.

Eyes:
  • Matte Mauve-Brown Eyeshadow: Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush, apply this color all over your lid and into your outer corner and crease. Be sure to blend well so there are no harsh lines. Also apply a little under your bottom lash lines. (The eyeshadow shown is the Urban Decay eyeshadow in "Tease", which would be perfect for this look).
  • Shimmery Light Champagne Eyeshadow: Apply to the inner tear ducts of your eyes to brighten your eyes.
  • Flesh tone Eyeshadow: Apply to your brow bone to brighten the eye area.
  • Black Gel Eyeliner: Using a thin eyeliner brush, apply a thin line to your upper lash line, then smudge the line a little so the line isn't so harsh. Also apply a little on the outer third of your bottom lash line.
  • Black Mascara: Apply a few coats of mascara to your upper lashes and one coat to your bottom lashes.

Lips:
For lips, apply a light peach-pink lipgloss (such as the NYX Butter Gloss in "Creme Brulee") to finish off the look!

My Beauty Wishlist #4 | Spring/Summer Drugstore Products

Usually when I think of beauty wishlists, I don't think of drugstore products, however, I don't go makeup shopping that often so I tend to make a list on products that I want on the more affordable end. This post in particular features some products that I have been eyeing in the aisles in the drugstore, all which I think would be perfect for spring and summer!

  • Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. As much as I love makeup and fashion, I actually don't own any sort of liquid foundation. I have extremely combination skin (some parts are super dry other par of super oily), so I have been hesitant on trying foundation. I also don't have any real problem areas with my skin that can't be fixed with concealer or powder. I have heard, however, that this BB cream is good for all skin types and very lightweight and affordable. It also has SPF, which is the main reason why I want it for the summer!
  • NYX Butter Gloss in "Maple Blondie". I have heard so much about the NYX Butter Glosses and how perfect they are for the spring and summer times! I definitely want to try them, especially in the colors "Maple Blondie", "Peaches and Cream", and "Tiramisu".
  • NYX Blush in "Peach". I have been on the hunt for the perfect spring and summer blush and I have looked up so many swatches on this blush! It seems like it would be the perfect peachy-pink color that would suit all skin tones!
  • Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso". This is another raved about product, especially on Youtube. I don't own a pink highlighter, so I think this blush could be the perfect highlight-and-blush in one.
  • Maybelline Color Whisper in "Coral Ambition". Nothing says summer like coral and this lip color has been on my radar for a while! I have also been thinking about getting the Revlon Lip Butter in "Juicy Papaya", which is close to Maybelline's "Coral Ambition".

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Beauty Scenario Tag!

It's been a long time since I have done a tag, so I decided it was time to write my answers to another tag, the Beauty Scenario Tag. This tag is a little different from some of the other tags I've done in the past, mainly because the questions in this tag are more specific and not very broad. I actually really liked answering the questions in this tag and I tag all of you to do this tag! Read on to see my answers to the Beauty Scenario Tag!

1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
Okay, so it's the first question and I already don't have a solid answer (I promise I do for some of the later questions!), mainly because I don't wear foundation. The only foundations that I would keep would be the only two that I have: Shiseido UV Sun Compact Foundation and the Rimmel Stay Matte powder.

2. You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
I don't know what I would do, but I would honestly probably not say anything, mainly because she is the interviewer. If if was my friend or even acquittance, then I would say something, but probably not to someone who I'm trying to impress.

3. You're not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful?
I don't own a lot of lipsticks and I don't often wear lip color (I'm actually planning on buying some summer lip products later, so this will probably change). Something that I use to freshin' up my look though is the Fresh Rose Lip Balm.

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?
Technically I'm still a teenager, but I'm going critique myself from middle school and high school. For hair, I didn't really do much in high school except pin some pieces back. In middle school though, I wore my hair up everyday. Looking back on it now, I wished I would have kept it down some days, especially for picture days.
As for makeup, I didn't start wearing makeup until a few years into high school and kept it pretty natural. I would, however, wear less eyeshadow because I would wear MAC's "All That Glitters" eyeshadow a lot, which is not the most natural eyeshadow. I would also do my eyeliner, because I didn't use eyeliner much back then, but now I feel like eyeliner makes my eyes pop more than mascara.

5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixi cut. Do you...
    a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mum hysterical
    b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward
    c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.
A. I would hope that I wouldn't cry or complain in front of the hairdresser. But I would honestly probably shed some tears after I left the salon.

6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag?
Oh gosh, this one is hard. I don't own any large makeup palette and only have duos or trios. If I had to pick one though I would say that I would pick my Clinique Duo in "Rose Wine", which has a pretty light shimmery pink color and a nice plum shade that's perfect for a smokey eye!

7. Your house has been robbed, don't worry- everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product you really hope is safe?
I'm not attached enough to my makeup to really hope that something was safe, but I would probably choose my Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, mainly because I use it everyday and it's one of the more expensive makeup items in my collection.

8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you...
    a) Just pretend you haven't noticed
    b) Ask them to repurchase it
    c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs
A! I would never ask them to repurchase it and I would especially never do it secretly to them! Makeup is makeup. It's just that. I may be a little frustrated for a little bit, but I wouldn't hold a grudge against them.

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Which foundation would you keep if you had to get rid of the rest of your makeup?
Please tell me below! I would love to read your answers!

Get the Look: Blake Lively Met Ball 2014 Makeup Look

The Met Ball took place last week and many celebrities pulled out their fancy dresses and had hair and makeup that you wouldn't see on them everyday. One person that stood out was Blake Lively, who was not only wearing a gorgeous, elegant dress, but also had mermaid waves and gorgeous simple makeup. I also took notice to her look because I have recently started watching Gossip Girl and am already on the second season! Read on to see how to get her look at the Met Ball!

Face:
  • Foundation: To get Blake Lively's flawless skin, apply your favorite foundation evenly on your skin, blending well for a natural finish.
  • Matte Bronzer: Apply lightly to contour the hollows of your cheekbones, jawline, and temples. If want to further contour, apply a little on the sides of your nose lightly with a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush.
  • Matte Rosy-Pink Blush: Apply lightly to the apples of your cheeks up to the side of your face, towards your ears.
  • Powder Illuminater: Since most of the face makeup is matte, apply a illuminater to the tops of your cheekbones to brighten your complexion and to highlight.

Eyes:
  • Light-Champagne Shimmery Eyeshadow: Blake Lively always wears a bright inner highlight shade, and the Met Ball was no exception. Apply a light shimmery eyeshadow to your inner corner and all across your lid up to your crease. (The one shown is MAC's "Nylon" eyeshadow).
  • Deep Plum Eyeshadow: The eyeshadow shown (NARS Subra Dual Intensity Eyeshadow) was the actual shade that Blake Lively was wearing. Using a fluffy brush, apply this shadow to the outer third of your lid and a little in the crease and blend well. Next, using a thin eyeliner brush, apply the shadow to the outer third of your bottom lash line.
  • Dark Brown/Gray Gel Eyeliner: Apply a thin line your upper lash line and before the liner dries, such the liner slightly so that the line is as harsh.
  • Black Mascara: Apply a few coats of a defining and lengthening mascara to your upper lashes and one coat to your bottom lashes.

Believe it or not, Youtube beauty sensation Bethany Mota is on Justine Magazine's May 2014 cover! I can't believe that someone who started off making videos on Youtube was able to build herself up into a teenage role model who has her clothing line and now magazine cover! I am so proud to see her accomplishments and happy to see that Justine picked her has the cover model! The makeup that Bethany was wearing was very natural, with a simple face and eye look and a bold red lip color. Read on to see how you can recreate her look!

NYX Rouge Creme Blush in 'Rose Petal': A Review + Swatches!

I'm always on the hunt for a good blush and I tend to go towards cream blushes rather than powder blushes. Of all the drugstore cream blushes, NYX blushes tend to get the most attention, so I picked up the NYX cream blush in "Rose Petal" at ULTA for $6.99, and as far as I know, ULTA's the only place that carries NYX products. Read on to see my thoughts on this blush!

This blush was the first cream blush that I had tried. NYX has a good range of cream blushes, so it was hard for me to pick one that I would think be good for everyday. The first time I bought this blush was actually around three years ago and I decided to pick up the blush in "Rose Petal" because it seemed liked the most natural (and pretty) flush color. Let me tell you, it was a good choice because this is a gorgeous color! This quickly became part of my everyday routine and I already gone through a couple pans!

Pigmentation, Blend-ability, and Pros
"Rose Petal" is a perfect peachy-pink rosy color which isn't too bright so it's perfect for everyday. It is also a matte blush with no shimmer, which I really enjoy. The formula is very creamy and this blush is very pigmented. A little bit goes a long ways but it is very easy to blend and can be easily blended either with my fingers or a brush. When blended into my cheeks, I find that it leaves me with a very natural and dewy flush, but not oily, which is perfect for someone with oily skin like me!

Downsides with this product?
Since this blush is a cream blush, I expected that it would last all day. When I applied, I did find that it lasted for a fairly long time, however, sometimes I needed to touch up throughout the day. This may, however, be due to my oily skin. Another problem that some may have is that it is actually too pigmented, but when applied carefully, it blends fairly easily. Other than that, I was pretty satisfied with this product!

Top: Swatch, Bottom: Blended
Overview:
Pros:
   - Creamy and blendable
   - Very pigmented
   - Affordable
   - Natural looking
   - Long lasting

Cons:
   - Can fade a little throughout the day

Price: $6.99 (at ULTA)

Would I repurchase this product? Already have!

Overall Rating
: 9 out of 10

I hope you found this helpful!

Get the Style: 'Modern Family' Haley Dunphy Inspired Outfits!

Modern Family is probably one of the most popular family comedies on television right now and I have recently been watching the show after giving it a break for a few years. When watching, I can't help but love Haley Dunphy's outfits on the show, especially in season 5! Her style has evolved since season 1 and wears many pieces that I would wear myself! Her style in season 5 is an edgy-er take on her previously more girly outfits. The outfits featured in this post are inspired by some of her outfits that she wore during Season 5! Read on to see my take on these outfits! (Also, sorry that the photos above are not the best photos of her.)

Outfit #1:
Top, Boots, Cardigan, Earrings, Jeans
This outfit if a perfect combination of girly and edgy styles. It's an outfit that is casual enough to wear to school but still looks cute enough to wear after school when you're hanging out with friends. To get this casual and versatile outfit, pair a tie-dyed or faded navy/gray top with a navy cardigan. Next, pair the outfit with a pair of medium washed skinny jeans and black combat boots. Finish the look off with a pair of gold hoop earrings!

Outfit #2:
Cardigan, Tank, Leggings, Necklace, Boots
This is another edgy get super comfy look that is perfect for school! Pair a forest green long cardigan with a graphic faded black tank for that edgy yet casual look. Next, wear a pair of black detailed leggings, such as ones with front seems (like the one shown above) or ones with leather paneling on the sides (which Haley has worn on the show before). Add a pair of black combat boots and an edgy long silver necklace and your done with the outfit!

Outfit #3:
Dress, Tights, Heels, Belt, Sleeveless Dress
This outfit can be worn for both an evening outfit or an outfit when your out with your friends! Haley wore a sleeveless navy skater dress that had some details, so either of the dresses shown above would be appropriate! She also wore a pair of black tights with the outfit and a pair of black wedge booties.  Finish this look off by cinching the waist with a skinny black patent leather belt!

I hope you found this helpful!
