Friday Favorites!

It's been feeling a lot like spring and summer here in the northwest, which means one thing: spring fever. And I have it bad. Even though last weekend was only a 3-day weekend, for some reason that extra day off has made it harder getting back into the routine of classes. Just have to push through one more week, then finals, then it's officially summer! Here are some of my current favorite inspirations that making me want summer that much more!

Rompers

Outfits For Inspiration

Rompers have been a growing trend that seem to be the updated version of your standard sundress. Rompers give a similar look to a sundress, since they are also a one-piece look and often times flowy and can be easily mistaken for a sundress. While a bottom half of a dress mimics a skirt, the bottom half of a romper mimics shorts. This help prevents any flashing problems, and if desired, can be easier to pull off if you want something shorter.

One of the best parts about rompers is that they effortlessly transition from day to night. During the day, a romper looks cute and stylish with some sandals or wedges and a cardigan. To dress up for the night, just remove the cardigan and swap the sandals for a pair of heels or nicer pair of wedges. Rompers also come in a wide range of styles. Some of a higher neck line, while other have a deep v-neck. Some rompers may be more flowy while other may be more structured. This makes if convenient to find a romper that fits your style and needs!

Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" Music Video Inspired Outfits!

If you have been listening to Taylor's Swift 1989 album, then you have probably seen her new music video for "Bad Blood" (here). I was excited to hear that she was making a music video since it's a pretty catchy song, but I was sceptical when I heard about all the famous people that were in the video. I thought it would come out..tacky. But did she prove me wrong! I absolutely love the video, and it's dare I say, epic. If you haven't seen it, you should, since you'll feel pretty empowered by the end. The outfits were also pretty epic, and while they may not be for everyday wear, inspiration from the looks is the pretty way if you want to add some (or a lot) of edge to your look!

CATASTROPHE

I just want to start off Taylor Swift's outfit by appriciating her alter-ego name "Catastrophie." Pretty fantasitic and makes you love her that much more. To recreate Taylor's edgy, but leather detailed outfit, start by pairing together a sleeveless nude top with a zipper-detailed black leather skirt. Add more black to the outfit with a black tights and black booties. Since the rest of the look is bold, finish the look with some simple accessories, such as rings and hoop earrings.

SLAY-Z

Top / Boots / Ring (left), Ring (right) / Shorts / Jacket
Slay-Z, aka Gigi Hadid was one the up-and-coming models featured in the video. Her all-black ensemble was edgy and incorporated the cutout trend that has been growing in popularity. For an inspired outfit, start off with a cutout or strapy black top. Add a pair of black shorts and a black jacket. Finish the look with some black heeled booties and rings.

FROSTBYTE

The outfit worn by Frostbyte, otherwise known as Lily Aldridge is probably one of my favorites in the music video. To recreate her outfit, start by pairing together a white v-neck crop top and a pair of white high-waisted shorts. To mimic the look of fur in her ensemble, add a white furry jacket or a furry headband. Finish the look with a pair of silver earrings, which nicely complements the white in the outfit, and a pair of white boots.

Have you seen Taylor Swift's new video? What do you think of the outfits above?

Oh-So Natural | Spring Trends 2015

Outfits For Inspiration

If there's a color that shys away from spotlight while still looking chic, it's the color natural. The natural trend not only applies to make up, but also being to be a growing trend this year in fashion. "Natural" colors include any off-whites, such as nudes, creams, and beige. Naturals not only go with everything, but they are perfect for those who want to look stylish without making a huge statement.

Some are turned off by natural colors, since they find that it blends into their skin. However, there are several ways to style natural colored pieces without looking bland. Despite being an off-white color, natural colors look perfect against white as well as different shades of brown. Natural colors are also the perfect twist to popular white and since it is neutral, it can go with almost any color or statement piece.

Will you be wearing natural colors this season?

Get the Look: Serena Van Der Woodsen Makeup Look!

Even though Gossip Girl has been over for a couple years, the style of the characters brought still are relevant today. Not only did the show had an impact on fashion, but the makeup looks also created much inspiration as well. This post will feature Serena Van Der Woodsen's makeup look that she was often seen in throughout the series. Even though her makeup did change a little throughout the seasons, her look remained glowy and bronzed. This look would be great for school, since it's on the natural side, but also perfect for the spring and summer months!

Serena's makeup was very fresh and didn't look as if she caked on a lot of foundation. Start the face makeup with a BB Cream for a little bit of coverage. Next, if desired, add a litte more coverage with a Powder. The powder will not only add coverage, but also to set the BB cream. To help define the face, fill in your eyebrows with Eyebrow Powder if desired.

To get Serena's bronzed glow, start off with a Bronzer with some subtle shimmer, applying to the hollows of your cheeks, down your jawline, and on your temples, blending well. Next, apply a Peach-Pink Blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending the blush to the sides of your face. Finish the face makeup with an Illuminator, applying it to the tops of your cheekbones and down the bridge of your nose, blending well.

Start off the eye makeup by a Light Peachy Champagne Eyeshadow all over the lid. Next, Serena, along with Blake Lively, was allows seen with a bright inner corner. To achieve this look, apply a Shimmery Light Highlighting Eyeshadow to the tear duct area, bringing it to the inner corner and inner waterline. For definition, apply Bronzer to the crease with a fluffy brush and blend well. Serena was has a subtle liner, so apply a Black Eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush to the upper lash line, making sure the line is thin. Also apply a little of the black eyeshadow to your bottom lash line for more definition. Finish the eye look with Black Mascara to your upper and lower lashes.

Serena was often seen with a natural lip color with a little bit of gloss. To achieve this look, apply a Rosy Pink Lipstick or Balm with a Sheer Pink Lipgloss on top. Voila! The look is done!

Friday Favorites!

I wish I had an excuse for not posting frequently for the past few weeks other than school, but honestly, school has been consuming every bit of my life. Unfortunately, according to my planner, I don’t see this changing until the quarter ends. I will try my best to write posts, since I love writing posts and find it the perfect outlet and escape from schoolwork. Anyways, enough about school. It’s been feeling a lot like spring here in the Northwest and I have been definitely awing over spring outfits and other related posts by other bloggers! Here are some of my current favorites!
