Falling into Winter: Holiday Series

Thanksgiving is officially over, which means that it's also "officially" holiday season! In celebration for the holiday season, I have exciting news....I'll be doing a "Falling into Winter" series, which is kinda like blogmas! Now, what is blogmas? If you watch Youtube vloggers, you may have heard of Vlogmas. "Falling into Winter" on my blog will be similar as Vlogmas, but instead of posting a vlog everyday until Christmas, I will be posting a holiday themed post every other day until Christmas. Now, I know that most bloggers already post daily. I really wish I could post everyday, but dead week is this week then I have finals, so I unfortunately don't have the time to write quality posts everyday.

Anyways, pretty much the point of this post is to say that I will posting every other day until Christmas, which I'm pretty excited about! It'll start December 2nd until Christmas! And don't worry, regular posts will still be posted after Christmas!

What posts would you like to see in my"Falling into Winter" Series?

My Current Everyday Makeup Look!

As much as I like experimenting with makeup, I find myself doing the same makeup look almost everyday. I haven't changed my makeup look for more than half a year and decided that it was about time for me to post my go-to look that I wear to class and causal weekends. I don't have classes until the later morning, which gives me time to make myself not look like someone straight out of a caveman movie. Although I usually have the time to get ready, I still always find myself using products for multiple purposes.

The Makeup...
I start off my makeup routine by applying the Urban Decay Primer Potion on my lids and blend the NYC Bronzer in Sunny into my crease with a crease brush. I then apply the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder all over the lid, which may seem odd, but since I have very oily eyelids I find that applying a finely milled powder lightly brightens my lid (since my lids are fairly dark) and keeps them matte all day.

To help make me look more awake, I apply the Bobbi Brown Eyeliner in "Caviar Ink" with a thin brush to just the outer half of my top lash line. Eyeliner is an essential for my everyday look! Another essential is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, which I apply to cover my horrible under eye circles and any pimples. To brighten my eyes more, I apply the Rimmel Eyeliner in "Nude" to my tear duct area and inner third of my bottom lash line. I then finish the eye look with a coat of the Maybelline Rocket Mascara on my upper and lower lashes and groom my brows with the Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara.

For my face, since I don't wear foundation on an everyday basis, I apply the Neutragena Clear Face Sunscreen as a base. To add a bit of definition, I apply the NYC Bronzer (the same bronzer I used on my eyes) to the hollows of my cheekbones, temples, and down the jawline. For a bit of color, I apply the NYX Creme Blush in "Rose Petal" to the apples of my cheeks, blending to the hair lines. I finish the look with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to my t-zone to prevent shine and under my eyes to set the concealer.

I may do another post on my more smokey fall makeup look that I wear when I need to be more dressed up, since that may be a little more interesting to read!

The Face Shop Clean Face Mild Lotion Review!

On my summer trip to Korea, one of the beauty items that I was on the hunt for was a good moisturizer (check out my Korea haul here!). I wanted something that was moisturizing without being too heavy, since I have combination-oily skin. I decided to stop by The Face Shop so I had only good things about the brand, and decided to pick up the The Face Shop Clean Face Mild Lotion. This Mild Lotion contains tea tree oil and is made for those who have oily skin and are prone to breakouts. It also claims to help reduce the oiliness of your skin.

Product
The product itself is great for those who have really oily skin like me and find most moisturizers too greasy. The moisturizer is thin, but not too thin, making it a great light product. I add a thinker layer of the product on drier spots, since some areas get a little on the dry side after I wash my face. This product immediately absorbs into the skin, which doesn't leave your skin with a oily finish. As for the scent, the moisturizer also has a subtle fresh scent that isn't too powerful, so it won't cause any headaches.

Packaging
I have a love-hate relationship with the packaging on the product. I love that the bottle is very sturdy and well made. The bottle is on the heavier skin and would probably break if dropped on a hard surface. The bottle also feels expensive, even though the product was a drugstore price. As for the downsides of the packaging, to dispense the product, there is not pump but instead just a sort of hole. Since the bottle is hard and not flexible, this means that you have to shake the moisturizer out of the bottle onto your hand to get the product out, not making it the most convenient product.

Overview:
Pros:
   - Great for oily skin
   - Moisturizes without oily residue
   - Absorbs quickly
   - Sleek and sturdy packaging
   - Affordable price
   - Subtle fresh scent

Cons:
   - Not great for those who have dry areas on your skin
   - Difficult to get product out of the bottle

Price: About $11 (₩11,500)

Would I repurchase? Maybe

Overall Rating: 8 out of 10

I hope you found this helpful!

Taylor Swift "Blank Space" Music Video Makeup Look!

Earlier this month I did a post on inspired outfits from Taylor Swift's newest music video for "Blank Space" (click here for the post!). Since Taylor's makeup was on-point with her outfits, I couldn't resist but also do an inspired makeup look from the music video. The look is an edgier twist to Taylor's standard cat-eye liner and red lip, with added eyeliner on the bottom lash line and contoured cheekbones. Continue reading to see how you can get the inspired look!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas!

Nothing starts the holidays like Thanksgiving! Finding an outfit for a Thanksgiving get-together is one of my favorite parts of the holiday, since it's an excuse to dress up slightly while still being comfortable. Below are three outfits that vary from dressy to causal and are all appropriate for a dinner with close family and friends!

This first Thanksgiving outfit is the most formal of all the outfits and great for that Thanksgiving family dinner where you need to dress up ensemble. First pair together a simple white detailed scarf with a maroon lace skater dress. Maroon is a classic color that transitions nicely into the fall and goes well with a pair of dark brown riding boots. As for jewelry, adding a pair of rhinestone stud earrings adds detail to the outfit without being overdone. Finish the outfit with a brown crossbody bag to keep your necessities throughout the afternoon and night.

If you're looking for an outfit that is classic while still having some festive detail, this next outfit may be up your alley. First start off with a simple white tee sucked into a camel colored skirt. For shoes, add a pair of nude color flats to compliment the skirt and rest of the outfit. For some added detail, add a pair of gold rhinestone stud earrings and a gold statement necklace. Add a pop of (festive) color with a plum or maroon colored bag.

This last outfit is probably my favorite out of the three, even though it is the most casual ensemble. Start the outfit with a flowy white top and a pair of skinny jeans. To make the outfit festive for Thanksgiving, add a plaid scarf and a pair of white and gold stud earrings. Finish the look with a pair of tan booties to pull together the outfit. The outfit's simple and comfortable while being perfect for a big family thanksgiving dinner!

Tuesday Ten: Fall Recipes I Wish I Could Cook

One of my favorite types of blogs to read are foods blogs. I have loved cooking since I was in high school, and food blogs and Pinterest (shameless plug to my pinterest here) exponentially heightened my love for food! Being in college and living the dorms, there are few opportunities for me to have access to a kitchen. I have few opportunities to cook and I don't yet have the confidence to cook food for people other than my family. I instead feed my love for cooking through looking up recipes for what to make when I do go home for the holidays, since aside from seeing my family, it is honestly one of the things I look forward to the most when going home.

Fall is the season for everything pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and spice. Here are some fall recipes that I am looking forward to try out and will sure make your mouth water!

Friday Favorites! | Fall Edition

I couldn't be more happy it's Friday! It's been a long week and it's about time that it's almost the weekend. Although I don't usually have many exciting weekend plans, one the things that I love doing is just going to a coffee shop and enjoying whatever pumpkin treats they have this fall. Unfortunately, living in the dorms doesn't give me access to a full kitchen, so instead of making my own pumpkin treats, I have to opt for buying a pumpkin bar or a slice of pumpkin bread instead. After all, fall is only here for a few months! Below I'll be talking about some of my fall favorites that I have been loving this season (don't worry, I won't flood you with pictures of pumpkin bread)!

Taylor Swift "Blank Space" Music Video Inspired Outfits!

Taylor's record beating sales on her newest album didn't surprise those who loved her changing music style and her music video didn't disappoint! The minute that I saw Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" video, I immediately wanted every outfit that she wore. This video is probably my favorite of all her music videos and I knew that I had to do a post featuring some the outfits in the video. Below are my recreations of some of her outfits from her video. To see where the items in the recreations are from, click on the item descriptions in the pink font!

Outfit #1
I absolutely love this first outfit and is definitely one I will take a lot of inspiration from! To recreate this preppy look, start off with a loose white long sleeve top (I may actually need to buy the one above from Tobi). Next, add a pair of olive colored skinny pants and a pair of dark brown riding boots. For accessories, add a pair of silver round earrings and a pair of white cat-eye sunglasses. If you want the exact look, finish the outfit with a pair of black gloves!

Outfit #2
Although this outfit was only shown briefly in the music video, the thing that caught my attention was surprisingly not the dress, but the shoes! To recreate this perfect night-out outfit, start with a lace black dress. Taylor's dress is obviously sheer on the bottom, which I think fits the video, but the average person will most likely not be wearing an exact duplicate of her dress. For my favorite part of the outfit, add a pair of cutout black heeled booties. Finish the outfit with a pair of black stud earrings and pin back the hair on one side of your head with a simple chic black hair clip.

Outfit #3
Okay, maybe this isn't the best screenshot of Taylor Swift, but it was best one to show the outfit. The outfit that she wore in this scene is more wearable than the previous outfit and embodies the same preppy style as the first out. To recreate this outfit, start off with a dark red short sleeve sweater. For the pants, Taylor was wearing a pair of pink plaid cropped pants, but for a similar look, you can either go for a pair of pink plaid cropped pants or solid light pink pants. Add a blue and silver statement necklace and a pair of nude flats and the look is complete!

Outfit #4
So maybe this last outfit is one that most people wouldn't wear on an everyday basis, but I just had to include it because it was just so gorgeous. As dressed up as this outfit is, it can be worn for a more formal night out and those nights where you just to dress up a little. To recreate this outfit, first wear a black lace maxi dress. For a more wearable option, instead go for a long sleeve short lace black dress. Although her shoes that she wore in this outfit weren't shown, any pair of black sandal heels would work well with the outfit. Finish the outfit with a pair of white drop earrings and navy cocktail ring!

Emma Watson Fall Makeup Look!

Is it possible to be an UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, advocate for women rights, actress in all the Harry Potter films, and be naturally gorgeous, all before the age of 25? Apparently Emma Watson has proved you can. Emma Watson is one my biggest role models who I can only hope to be half as influential as she is today. Today's post is going to feature one of Emma's look that features a natural eye look with flushed checks. The added berry lip also makes this wearable look perfect for fall!

  1. Brightening Concealer: Emma did not have a lot of foundation and had a gorgeous glow, so start the makeup by just applying the concealer under the eyes, down towards the check bones and then blend well.
  2. Powder: Set the concealer with a little bit of powder and apply the powder lightly around the t-zone to help prevent shine.
  3. Pink Blush: Apply lightly to the tops of the apples of your cheeks, blending towards the sides of your face.

  1. Beige Eyeshadow: Start the eye makeup by applying a beige eyeshadow all over the lid.
  2. Matte Light Brown Eyeshadow: Using a fluffy brush, apply the eyeshadow through the crease from the outer corner to the inner corner using a windshield motion. Make sure to blend well! This will help blend the darker brown later.
  3. Medium-Dark Brown Eyeshadow: Deepen the crease by apply this eyeshadow into the crease over the light brown eyeshadow, making sure to blend well.
  4. Satin Cream Eyeshadow: Apply to the inner corner and tear duct area as well as under the brow bone.
  5. Black Gel Eyeliner: Using a thin eyeliner brush, push the eyeliner into your upper lash, keeping the line thin and natural looking.
  6. Black Mascara: Finish the eye makeup with a few coats of mascara on the upper and lower lashes.

Finish the look with a berry lip color, such as MAC's Rebel Lipstick! This look help pull the look together, not to mention that berry is the perfect lip color for the fall!
