Get the Look: Lauren Conrad Summer Bronze Makeup Look!

One of signature looks for the summer is the bronze glow look and one of the celebrities who sports this look the best and often is Lauren Conrad! This look is inspired by one of her glowy, bronzed, and flawless makeup looks that can be worn during the night or can be toned down for a day time look with a lighter foundation! This is also a relatively simple look that I think would look good on anyone and many of the products are basic makeup products that can switched to fit what you have in your collection! Read on to see how to recreate her look!

Face:
  • Foundation and Liquid Golden Highlighter: To get Lauren's glowy skin, mix your foundation with a little bit of a golden highlighter and apply evenly. If you don't want to mix the highlighter into your foundation, you can just use your foundation and apply the highlighter the tops of your cheekbones!
  • Peach Blush: To add some color, apply a peach blush to your cheeks up to your temples.
  • Highlighter: Finish the face makeup by applying a little bit of highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones

Eyes:
  • Champagne-Bronze Eyeshadow: Apply this color all over the lid to get Lauren's bronze-y eye look. If desired, also apply to your bottom lash line. (The color shown is Urban Decay's eyeshadow in "Sidecar")
  • Soft Brown Eyeshadow: Using a fluffy brush, apply this eyeshadow into the crease to soften the look and to blend any harsh lines. (The color shown is Urban Decay's eyeshadow in "Naked", yes the photo is flipped)
  • Light Shimmery Cream/Gold Eyeshadow: Apply this shadow into the inner corner using a pencil brush. (Urban Decay's eyeshadow in "Venus" and MAC's eyeshadow in "Phloof are good shades for this look).

  • Liquid Black Eyeliner: Lauren Conrad always wears winged eyeliner, including in this particular look. Apply from the inner corner to your outer corner and make a small winger at the end (like in this photo here).
  • Black Pencil Eyeliner: Apply to the outer part of your waterline and bottom lash line, to the side of your iris. Smudge the liner lightly to soften the look.
  • Black Mascara: Apply two coats to your upper lashes and one coat to your lower lashes
  • Eyebrow gel: Finish off the look by grooming your eyebrows with a tinted gel!

Knoty Nautical | Summer Fashion 2014

Nothing says summer like nautical inspired outfits! From navy blue stripes to clean white shorts and tees, nautical clothing items are classic fashion pieces that are easy to style and effortless. The best part is that it requires almost the most basic fashion pieces to put together a nautical outfit, such as white shorts, classic sandals, or anything striped that's blue and white! So whether it's a day out with your friends in the city or a night out on the beach, the nautical trend is one of my go-to trends when it comes to effortless style!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
Will you be wearing nautical themed items this summer?

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: Review + Swatches!

For someone who wakes up to dark circles every day, I'm always on the hunt for a good concealer to cover up and brighten my eye area. When I heard about Maybelline's Fit Me concealer, I decided to try it out since there there was so much hype behind the product. This product claimed to give a look that's flawless while still being natural, so what was there to lose?

What's good about this concealer?
Let my just first say that I adore this concealer! I do think that it lives up to its claims and does cover up your under eye area well without looking cakey. I have pretty bad under eye circles (being both genetics and from lack of sleep) but after I dot it under my eyes and blend, it covers up my circles and I look more awake! It's a very creamy concealer and blends very well into the skin. I also find that this concealer also covers blemishes as well, however, I primarily use it for my eye area.

Another pro is that this concealer comes in many shades for a drugstore concealer. Color ranges with drugstore concealers can be very limited, however, this concealer comes in six different shades. I'm in the shade 20 Sand Sable and it's a perfect match, especially in the winter when I'm a little less tan. I also like how it comes with a doe foot applicator, making it easier to apply under your eyes and directly on blemishes. The packaging is also very sleek, making it easy to travel with and carry in your purse.

Downsides of this product?
If there is one problem with this concealer, it would probably have to be that it does tend to crease and fade throughout the day. I don't consider this a huge flaw though because most concealers tend to crease on me. The creasing, however, can be fixed slightly with a powder. Just set the concealer with a little bit of powder and it will make it last a lot longer! Overall, I love this concealer and I have repurchased it so I would recommend it to those looking for a natural looking concealer!

Top: Swatch, Below the swatch: Blended
Overview:
Pros:
   - Good coverage for both under eyes and blemishes
   - Looks natural and not cakey
   - Very creamy and applies smoothly

Cons:
   - Tends to crease after a few hours
   - Doesn't last all day (but can be fixed with some powder) and you may have to touch up throughout the day.

Overall Rating: 8.5 out of 10

I hope this helped!

Matching Crop Top and Skirt: In or Out?

One of the newer trends that I have seeing for this summer season is matching crop tops and skirts. It's pretty much a dress split in two. When I first noticed the trend, I was hesitant about it and didn't see it becoming a larger trend in the summer. This trend, however, has grown on me and I think that it's a nice take on the regular crop top plus skirt look.

Items shown above: Tereza Nude Contrast Bandage Crop Top + Skirt | Torn by Ronny Kobo | Forever 21 Floral Crop Top and Skirt | AE Chambray Crop Top and Skirt
The matching crop top and skirt trend is similar to a dress, but instead shows a little more skin. The amount of skin you want to show can also be varied depending the particular set you guy. I personally wouldn't mind trying out this trend for this summer, since you can easily adjust how much skin to show.

Items shown above:  JOA Printed Top and Shorts | MINKPINK Wildflower Patch Camisole and Shorts | Topshop White Pineapple Crop Top and Shorts | JOA Sleeveless Crop Top and Shorts
Similar to the matching crop top and skirt, the matching crop top and shorts is an even newer take on the already new matching crop top and skirt trend. This trend is a twist to the growing romper trend, except it shows a little more skin. Although I am seeing the matching top and shorts trend more in stores, I think that I would be a little hesitant in the trend.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Get the Look: Ariana Grande 'Problem' Music Video Makeup Look!

Ariana Grande recently released a music video for her latest single 'Problem' where she wore her classic white boots and black dress with a natural makeup look. I loved her makeup in particular, since it was an updated version from her makeup in her "The Way" music video. This makeup look is perfect for the summer, since it is light and minimal. It is also appropriate for both school and work and is easy to recreate! Read on to see my take on her look!

Face:
  • BB Cream: To get Ariana Grande's flawless complexion, apply a light BB Cream to even out your skin care while having a natural finish.
  • Powder: Apply to the T-zone. Ariana Grande didn't have a very glowly makeup look and was rather more on the matte side.
  • Bronzer: Ariana was just wearing bronzer, no blush, on her cheeks. Apply the bronzer with a a large brush under the cheekbones, on the temples, and along the jawline. Make sure to blend well for a natural finish.
  • Illuminater: Since most of the look is matte, finish the face makeup look with a little amount of illuminater to the tops of your cheekbones and blend.

Eyes:
  • Matte Light-Medium Brown Eyeshadow: Ariana Grande was wearing a matte brown-toned eye look that's easy to achieve. First apply a matte brown eyeshadow, such as Urban Decay's eyeshadow in "Naked 2" all over your lid, up until your crease.
  • Matte Medium-Dark Brown Eyeshadow: Apply with a fluffy crease brush into you crease, blending well for a defined look. The eyeshadow "Faint" by Urban Decay would be perfect for this look.
  • Black Pencil Eyeliner: Apply a medium sized line to your upper lash line, winging the eyeliner out at the end if desired. Make sure your liner is sharpened for a more precise look.
  • Black Lengthening Mascara: Apply a few coats your upper and lower lashes.
  • Long False Lashes: This step is optional and may not be appropriate for school or work. Ariana, however, was wearing false lashes in her video, so if you want to make the look more dramatic, apply some false eyelashes to your upper lash line.

Lips:
Mauve-Pink Lipstick: Finish off the look by apply a mauve pink lipstick!

Get the Look: Elle Fanning Teen Vogue June/July Cover Makeup Look!

Elle Fanning was the face of the June/July 2014 cover of Teen Vogue. She look gorgeous with a fresh makeup look that is easy for anyone to recreate! Elle Fanning kept the face makeup natural and fresh looking, with the makeup being barely noticeable. She also kept the eye makeup very simple, with just a simple lid color, which was enough to make her eyes pop while keeping very fresh-looking. This makeup look is perfect for work and school as well as a fresh summer makeup look! Read on to see my take on her cover makeup look!

Face:
  • BB Cream: To get Elle Fanning's fresh and natural finish, apply a BB Cream to even out your skin tone.
  • Powder: Set the BB Cream with a light powder on your forehead and down your t-zone to help prevent your face from getting oily throughout the day.
  • Matte Bronzer: Elle Fanning was wearing some bronzer along the bottoms of her cheek, so apply a bronzer with a contour brush along the hollows of your cheekbones. Add a bit of bronzer to your temples and along your jawline for a little more contouring and color.
  • Light Pink Blush: Finish the look off by applying a little bit of light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks for a little more color.

Eyes:
  • Champagne Eyeshadow: Apply the eyeshadow all over your lid, up to your crease. Also apply a little to the outer third of your bottom lash line.
  • Black Eyeliner: It didn't look like Elle was wearing any thick eyeliner, but it did look like she had some eyeliner on her tight line (the part under your lashes). Tight line your eyes with a pencil eyeliner and smudge the eyeliner between your lashes to make your upper lash line look naturally thicker.
  • Black Mascara: Finish the look off with some mascara to your top and bottom lashes.

Lips:
  • Peach-Pink Tinted Lip Balm: Finish the look off with natural peach-pink lip color. The Revlon Lip Butter in "Peach Parfait" if perfect for this look!
