Best of 2012!: A Tag

2013 is starting to come around and 2012 is starting to come to a close. Since I don't do monthly favorite posts (I don't change my routine enough to do those), I decided that I would do the Best of 2012 Tag that has been circling around Youtube! I also think it would be interesting to look back at this post in a year and see how much, or how little, has changed.
Here are my favorites!

BEAUTY
1. Cheek product: My favorite cheek product is the NYX cream blush in "Rose Petal". It's such a pretty everyday color!
 2. Eye product: This would be the lighter shade in the Clinque duo "Rose Wine". It's a very natural everyday color!
3. Lip Product: My favorite lip product is the EOS lip balm, especially in "Sweet Mint". It's super moisturizing and tastes really good.
4. Skincare Product: I have been using the Clinique Gel Moisturizer almost every day. Perfect for oily skin!
5. Hair product: I have been liking the Organix Moroccan argon oil shampoo. It's super moisturizing and volumizing, plus isn't at a great price!
6. Body product/Perfume: This has to probably be the Sweet Pea body mist from Bath and Body Works. This has allows been a favorite and I pretty much wear this every day.

FASHION
9. Clothing piece: I can't think of one clothing piece that stands out from the rest, but one piece that I have been wearing throughout the year are black skinny jeans. They go with anything!
10. Accessory: Scarves. Especially during the cooler months, I have started getting more into infinity scarves, which are super warm.
11. Pair of shoes: Flats for sure, in particular nude flats. I wear nude flats throughout the year, because they go with anything and can go casual or formal.

RANDOM
12. Favorite TV Show: I had a hard time choosing this one, so I'm going to have to do more than one. My favorite TV shows that is still currently on air are New Girl, The Middle, and Revenge. I also started getting into Psych. A TV show that is no longer on air but I have watching a lot this year (actually more like the past several years) is Scrubs.
13. Favorite book: I don't have time to read a lot but one book I enjoyed over the summer is "Seventeenth Summer" by Maureen Daly.
14. Food: Food is definitely a tough one, though one cuisine that I have been liking a lot this year is Indian, especially Palak Paneer and Butter Chicken Masala.
15. Beverage: I have always liked tea, but this year, I have especially been getting into tea lattes in almost any flavor of tea.
16. Favorite song: This is definitely a hard one. I can't really pick one song that I have liked more than others this year, but I have been, and have always liked, Coldplay, but I have also been liking the songs "Take a Walk" by Passion Pit, "Little Talks" by Monsters and Men, and "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran.

Ones that I didn't answer because I don't use it very often:
Favorite Face product and Nail Polish.

While doing this tag, I realized that there defiantly should be an "All time favorites" tag, which would be fun to do :).

I hope you enjoyed this :)

Favorite Winter Scents: Countdown to Christmas #12

For my second to last Countdown to Christmas post, I decided to post about my top winter scents for the cooler months, whether it's in a perfume form, or my favorite candle scents. In the winter, I like more warm scents, but I'll still go for fruity and floral. You can work with nearly any scent in the winter time!
Here are my favorites!
  • Warm Vanilla and Carmel Scents. For the winter, vanilla and soft sweet scents like caramel are perfect for the winter in perfume or body washes.
  • Sweet Peppermint. Even though this is known as a Christmas scent, I still really like this scent through the earlier months of winter. It's sweet, but very different from your cupcake scents and chocolate scents. I love this scent in both candles and in body scents.
  • Spices. This is one of my favorite winter candle scents. I love more home-y scents in the winter, and for me, the scent of spieces such as cinnamon is one of them. A candle that have this scent is "Spice" by Bath and Body Works.
  • Cranberry. I love sweet cranberry cents in the winter. It's the fruity scent for the winter time! I love this scent in candles!
  • Sweet Pea. This may not be your typical winter scent, but I put it in this list because it is, in my opinion, an all year round scent. It's sweet and floral, but not too strong for just the spring and summer. This may be a little more for the warmer months, but I still find it suitable for the cooler months.
What are your favorite winter scents?

I hope this helped!

Combat Boots Trend!

Countdown to Christmas #11!
Combat boots are really in trend now, and I have a feeling that it is a trend that won't be going away any time soon. They come in a variety of colors and styles, one that can fit almost any style. You can buy combat boots at Nordstrom or almost any department store. You could also go for a lower price at Target or Payless.
Below are some examples of combat boots and styles that are trendy right now. The ones in the top row are my personal favorites and the second row is for those who want something a little more trendy and unique.

Here are some of the trends (shown by row)
  • Classic combat boot
  • Buckle detailing
  • Knit detailing.
  • Patterned inside + foldover
  • Patterned
  • Detailed tip
I personally love the first row of boots the best. The classic combat boot is one that you can wear with any outfit. The buckle detailing adds a really cute twist to the classic combat boot. Lastly, the knit pocking out of the boot just looks so cute!

What's your favorite (combat) boot?

I hope this helped!

Get the Look: Taylor Swift "Begin Again" Makeup Look

This is my Countdown to Christmas post #10. I know this isn't exactly a winter makeup look, but this simple look would be perfect for any holiday get-together. It is very wearable and can be worn year-round. I think this would look especially pretty between winter and spring. This tutorial is based on a combination of all her looks during the "Begin Again" music video.

Here's the inspired makeup look!

Taylor Swift has a flawless face, but doesn't look like her foundation was very full coverage. Use a BB cream to even out your skintone while still looking natural and finish with a light dusting of powder.

Her eye makeup isn't very bold, but there is some definition. Start with a light beige color all over the lid and browbone.

Place a light brown-purple color in the crease and blend well. She has no harsh lines and looks very natural.

Take a gel black eyeliner and make a very thing line on your upper lash line. Even though she's famous for her cat-eyes, her eyeliner isn't very bold in this look. For a little more drama, you can add a little wing.

Use a thickening mascara on your upper and lower lashes.

Place a light peachy-pink color on the apples of your cheeks, and blend well.

Her lips are the center of her look, but aren't very bright (in the music video, the picture on the far right is the most accurate). Use a lip liner and fill in you lips with a slightly deep red.

Lastly, use a muted red to soften the darker lip liner.

I hope this helped!

Winterlicious Tag! Countdown to Christmas #7

I have seen this tag around Youtube, so I thought it would be fun to do. It will be like my favorite going-into-winter items with some fun holiday questions.

1. Favorite Winter Nail Polish? I don't really wear nail polish that often, but if I had to pick one, it would be one from Essie's Holiday Collection last year: Essie's "Cocktail Bling". Even though it's not a dark or sparkly color, which is often seen in the winter time, I still think it's the perfect light, winter color.
2. Favorite Winter lip product? My favorite winter lip product would probably be  a good chapstick. A good chapstick is a must have for those more cooler, drier months.

3. Most worn Winter clothing piece? I would have to say sweaters. I can't think of one specific sweater, but tend to get lazy during this time of this year, so sweaters are a must for me.

4. Most worn Winter accessory? This would definitely be infinity scarves. I love infinity scarves in the fall and are almost a must where I live. It's always cold where I live during this time of the year, so scarves always feel really cozy.

5. Favorite winter scent/candle? My favorite scent in the winter is probably "Vanilla Bean Noel" from Bath and Body works. It's described as a blend of sweet caramel, creamy vanilla and burnt sugar. A close second would be "Twisted Peppermint".

6. Favorite Winter beverage? This would definitely be hot chocolate, especially peppermint hot chocolate, like the one from Starbucks.

7. All time favorite Christmas/Holiday movie? My favorite Christmas movie is an oldie but goody: "It's a Wonderful Life". I watch it every year and I would totally recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. Other ones would be "Elf", "A Christmas Movie" and the "Polar Express".

8. Favorite Christmas/Holiday song? This is definitely a hard one. I'm going to have post about my favorite holiday songs. However, if I had to choose, it would "Last Christmas" and "All I want for Christmas". Please, you doesn't love these songs? Admit it. You know you do.

9. Favorite Holiday food/treat? My favorite holiday treats are sugar cookies and gingerbread men. I also just love all those homemade candy and treats you get from friends during the Christmas time, like fudge and macaroons.

10. What is your favorite Christmas Decoration this year? My favorite decoration is the Christmas tree and the stockings. They just make any house Christmas-y.

11. What's at the top of your Christmas list? I honestly don't have a Christmas list. I can't name anything specific that I really want. Usually I ask for clothes and beauty stuff. Like most people, I love buying gifts for people. That's my favorite part about Christmas. :)

12. What are your plans for the holidays this year? I'll probably stay home with my family and seeing everyone open presents. We may also have dinner with some friends.

I hope you enjoyed this!
I tag all of you!
Please comment on you Holiday plans this year!

Pine Tree Winter Makeup Tutorial!

Countdown to Christmas #5! This makeup tutorial is a winter look that is inspired the pine trees and snow. It's different from other holiday tutorials, but I thought it would be a nice change. This look incorporates deep greens with lighter champagnes.
I hope this look helps or inspires you!

After applying a primer, place a light champange color all over the lid.

Take a deep pearly green color and place it on the outer corner and crease, blending it towards the middle of the lid. Blend the color well in the crease (the diagram doesn't really show this).
Take this color and drag it on the bottom last line.

Use a gold-champagne color to blend the light champagne and deep green colors together.

Line your upper lash line with a black-brown eyeliner.

Apply your favorite volumizing mascara.

Maybelline blush in "rose petal"
Apply a light pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.

Finish the look of with a light pink lipstick.

That is the look!

I hope this helped you!
Thank you for reading!
